Up North

William and I recently returned from a week up north, eh, to visit the family. We arrived in Calgary and jetted off to see big brother Frank and his family for a day. Although it was a quick visit, we managed to keep Frank up till 1:30 chatting (and he had to work the next day) and we apparently gave little Keath just enough time to warm up to Uncle Will-then he was attached to him at the hip! Didn't even like it when Uncle Will disappeared to take a quick shower! He started banging on the door for him to come out and play. We left the next day and began our road trip through the rockies. Will isn't much for driving, so we stopped and did touristy things like take pictures (see above) to break the monotony and we stayed one night in the B.C. Rockies to break up the trip in half. We stayed at a beautiful and remote lodge in the national park (courtesy of William's resourceful hotel reservation skills). As a Canadian, I am still surprised by how beautiful my country is. We stayed in a wee cabin on an 'island' on Emerald Lake. They call it Emerald Lake because glacier fed waters reflect the most gorgeous greens and blues (see picture above). We completed the final leg of our trip to Mom & Dad's the next day which culminated in a ferry ride. We stayed at Mom & Dad's where we were very well fed and enjoyed some rare sunny weather! The sun shone for the three days we were there. :) We did the eight hour drive on the way back in one day so that we could visit with William's sister and her kids, and his mother who came down from Edmonton to see us. Everyone is doing well and Ann's youngest boy, Ellis, is all butter (as in butter-ball) and big brown eyes! We had a great time and surprisingly, found some time to relax in between all our travelling around. :) Now...well, it's back to work. I just found out I am teaching Levels 1 and 5 this semester, the lowest and highest levels of English proficiency. Hmm...I may give myself a stroke trying switch gears between classes! Oh well, no one said life isn't risky! (I just didn't think teaching would be. :) ) As usual, check out flickr for more pics of our trip. :)
