Up the Yangtze
This past Friday, Will, Malora, Charlie, and I went to go see Up the Yangtze. It was produced by William's half sister's son, Mila. His company, EyeSteelFilms, produced this documentary about the people affected by the flooding of the Yangtze river caused by the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in China. Their stories were very compelling and provided a stark contrast to the absurdity of the cruise boat of tourists that makes farewell tours of the flooded areas. I didn't know that much about China before this film, but it definitely gave me something to think about. Here's the link to the film's site. It's currently playing at the Music Box theatre.
